An Incredible Thursday!

Last Thursday, the Parent Support Network of Rhode Island, Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Fatherhood Initiative hosted a Policy & Practice Forum focused on the challenges Rhode Island fathers face in their pursuit of being active parents. The event highlighted the importance of community support in raising a child and demonstrated our collective commitment to family values.

I had the honor of facilitating our "Father Stories" segment, where two fathers shared their inspiring journeys of overcoming obstacles within the child support system, family court, and societal expectations.

Hope was the central theme of the forum. Our keynote speaker from Connecticut, Anthony Judkins, emphasized the importance of uplifting fathers' voices and placing their lived experiences at the forefront of change.

Thank you to everyone who participated from various agencies and state departments to honor fathers and commit to support them through statewide action.

Special shoutout to David Morales for welcoming everyone to this event and sharing his own lived experience that highlighted the importance of family and coming together to uplifting the greatest challenges.

Special shoutout to the fathers from our Father 2 Father support group (every Wednesday from 5:30-7pm ET at 535 Centerville Rd, Suite 202, Warwick, RI)
